lunar eclipse that the moon
drifts through the dark circular
shadow of the Earth being
projected into space. This
composite of five images from
the total lunar eclipse of
November 28/29, 1993 shows not
only the location of the Earth's
shadow during the eclipse, but
also its immense size―even at a
distance of about 243,000 miles
where the moon was on that
night. |
