DESERT HALO
LHL-05-001

During the pre-dawn hours of May 27, 2005,  a magnificent halo formed around the waning gibbous moon in the sky over Southern California's Anza-Borrego Desert.  In addition to the halo, a rather unusual pair of tangential arcs appeared at the top and bottom of the halo.  The "teapot" of Sagittarius appears just within the the right side of the halo.
