On the
night of March 23, 2002, the sky
erupted during dusk with an
amazing display of the
aurora borealis—the northern
lights. This "plume"
seemed to rise from the
moonlit mountains east of the Parks
Highway, not far from
Alaska's Denali National Park, and
provided the one of the first
indications that the night would
be spectacular. This photo
took 3rd place (Mountains
category) in the
2006 Fine Art Print Exhibit
of North American Nature
Photography Association. |
