During this long exposure of the total lunar eclipse of January 20, 2000, the moon transitions from being only partially eclipsed to being totally eclipsed, but airplane trails try desperately to steal the show.   Bright moonlight at the beginning of the eclipse, coupled with high cirrus clouds, wash out all evidence of star trails except for that of Pollux to the left of the moon.
