MONET SUNRISE
DWN-98-001

The clouds at dawn often take on the appearance of a spectacular impressionist's painting.   The red light is caused by sunlight passing through a relatively thick path of air.  When the sunlight reaches us, the atmosphere has robbed most of its short wavelength colors.   All that remains are its magnificent golds, oranges and reds, and these paint the sky with a wonderfully warm glow.
